'When the wind is blowing, the cash is flowing.'

Wind turbines generate more than 1 % of the global electricity with growing wind energy output all over the world. Even though this is not an earth shattering number, wind energy is used in more than 70 markets. Its emission free energy and availability especially in offshore projects attracts more and more investors.

Let's see where the most wind power is generated. Here is a chart overview showing wind capacities for 2007 in both the U.S.A. and in the rest of the world. This chart represents the worldwide output in Gigawatts. Europe is still ahead with Germany leading the pack with 22 GW, followed by Spain with 15.5 GW. India is also on the rise for using more wind energy. The total output compared with 2006 has increased by 27%. WWEA (World Wide Wind Association) is predicting that by the end of 2010 we will have most likely a 170 GW capacity in the top 40 wind markets.
